My experience buying the Deruiz Peridot Planning: I had been planning to buy a new folding bike for a long time. It was to be an e-bike and foldable for transport in the trunk of my car. Last autumn, I then saw many videos on YouTube about Peridot I saw it and was able to get a very good idea of ​​what it was like. I was particularly interested in the following: 1. Delivery to Switzerland 2. What is the maximum weight of the rider (payload)? 3. Is the bike suitable for off-road use and the hilly terrain of Switzerland? 4. How good is the workmanship? 5. Is the technology up-to-date? 6. How safe is the bike? 7. What does the bike cost? After watching many videos, I decided to buy it. Peridot I ordered directly. A test ride in Germany would have been possible, but it would have taken me a whole day. Traveling through Austria to Germany, a test ride near Lake Constance, and then back to Switzerland. So I sent an email to Deruiz with questions and received detailed answers and tips in the form of videos quite quickly. This allowed me to get a clear picture of the technology and handling. I placed the order online for delivery to Switzerland: The delivery window was short, but the delivery by FedEx was a bit bumpy. My experience with FedEx's delivery service: I received an email quickly, and the delivery to Switzerland was scheduled for three days later between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. I was home, and the packages with the additional order (front wheel and rear rack) were handed to me on time. The FedEx employees knew nothing about the missing e-bike. A brief inquiry email to Deruiz was answered promptly, and they too could only refer me to the delivery service. So the bike was on its way, and I continued searching for changes with FedEx. I had received three tracking numbers and checked again under "open numbers." Accessing the website directly was unsuccessful, so I looked up the FedEx website for Germany. There, I was informed that the bike should arrive between 10:3 and 14:14. So, a larger vehicle would be needed. PeridotAround 15 p.m., I started getting restless and kept checking online to see when the bike would arrive. Then the delivery time was changed to "before 18 p.m." At 19 p.m., it was changed to later that day, and after midnight, the delivery window was set for the next day between 10 a.m. and 14 p.m. Finally, the bike arrived the next day around 11 a.m. The driver had packed the pallet with the large box in front of my garage and was about to leave. Only grumbling did he take the empty pallet back with him. I really have no use for a Euro pallet in my garage. Unpacking and delight: I had set aside time and tools for unpacking. At first, I was confused: The lid of the box was sealed with tape, not the metal straps. After opening it, however, I was able to unpack a very well-packaged and flawless bike. I think Swiss customs must have opened the package. Since I don't live in the EU, I'm used to that. As everything seemed to be in order, I was able to unpack the bike. I was amazed by the quality of the packaging and protective boxes; the metal was protected by only small but sturdy plastic films. This makes the packaging almost perfectly suitable for recycling. Since I had also watched videos on the subject, I knew pretty much exactly what to do. Note: The bike isn't light and should be removed from the box by two people. After that, no further assistance is needed. Enthusiasm: Thanks to the videos and the instruction manual (it's included and not just available online), I quickly got the bike ready to ride. I would have loved to ride off immediately, but I had made sure to charge the battery for 24 hours first. The first ride: First, I had to adjust the saddle height so my feet could reach the ground. But then my first ride began: As a motorcyclist, I'm familiar with heavy bikes, but this one... Peridot This is my first e-bike. I cautiously tried it out without the motor first and got the hang of it immediately. After switching the motor on, I was simply thrilled. I tried out the different assistance levels and came to a rather steep road. I can easily manage it on foot, but on a bike? I tried it and was absolutely delighted. Then my route took me through the forest paths and along the roads, and I had to restrain myself to avoid going too fast. But I always felt safe and simply enjoyed the ride. Now I can retire my old bike.

The DERUIZ Quartz This is my first e-bike. I was initially skeptical about whether I could assemble it myself, but firstly, almost everything was pre-assembled, and secondly, the video instructions were self-explanatory. What pleasantly surprised me was not only the bike's appearance but also its weight. The best features, however, are the motor and the brakes. It even has a push assist function. Customer service responded immediately to my questions. I've already recommended the bike to my friends. My daughter (see photo) is happy because I can finally keep up on bike rides again…
